Civilians Damage US-Backed Militia’s Checkpoints in Eastern Syria

Civilians in Southeastern Deir Ezzur raided the positions of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday, destroying their checkpoints.

The SDF opened fire at the people in the village of al-Sajar in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, injuring seven villagers.

The villagers, later, set fire at the SDF-run al-Sijan oilfield near al-Sajer, destroying the terrorists’ checkpoints.

In the meantime, a field source pointed to intensified tensions in the SDF-held regions in Deir Ezzur, adding that two SDF militias were killed in a bomb blast near al-Tanak oilfield in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

The London-based pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Friday that the US Army forwarded hundreds of trucks containing military equipment to the Eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezzur in nearly 6 weeks.

The SOHR noted that the US army sent over 1,900 trucks packed with military equipment to Eastern Syria since August 1, 2018.

“A sum of 150 trucks carrying military equipment, armored vehicles and logistic supplies have been sent to the East of the Euphrates only in the last few days,” the SOHR added.
