Cleric Warns about West’s Plot to Distort Islam

Tehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani cautioned that the West is trying to undermine Islam’s power through presenting a distorted image of Islam to the world.
“The governments compromised with the West, getting clergymen and authors along with themselves in a bid to change God’s religion and Quranic concepts and meanings and showcase a half-alive and ineffective Islam to the world,” Ayatollah Emami Kashani underscored, addressing a large congregation of people on Tehran University campus today.

He added that the root cause of all problems and backwardness of the world of Islam is failure to define Quranic concepts and put them in action in one’s life.

Earlier this week, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the holy Quran as a source of glory for Muslims, and called on Muslim nations to act upon Quran’s guidelines.

Addressing a gathering of readers of holy Quran on the first day of fasting month of Ramadan in Iran on Tuesday afternoon, Ayatollah Khamenei said holy Quran can fulfill all human needs and is a guideline for mankind and stressed that all weaknesses and problems of Muslim nations can be rectified through practicing the holy Quran.

The Leader stated that the rule of hegemonic powers in Islamic world have caused looting of economic sources, lack of identity in cultural affairs, and added that Quran is a cause for spiritual and material glorification for Muslim nations and Iranians are a clear manifestation of this historical reality.
