‘Clever resistance hinders major powers’

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the global system of dominance is declining and the “intelligent resistance” by various nations will accelerate its collapse.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a Saturday meeting in Tehran with Sudan’s presidential advisor and special envoy, Mustafa Osman Ismail, according to a report by Iran’s official presidential website.

Iran’s President went on to say that the domineering powers would attempt to challenge any nation that decides to stand tall and exercise independence, adding that such arrogant attitude actually reflects their weakness and desperation.

Describing Iran-Sudan ties as important and growing, the Iranian chief executive noted that Tehran “welcomes the expansion of relations between the two countries in different areas and regards it beneficial to both nations and the region.”

For his part, Ismail conveyed the message of the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to President Ahmadinejad, and pointed out that Sudan has a “positive view” of the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa.

Before holding talks with the president, the Sudanese official had a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Thursday.
