Defending our country is possible only through Islamic unity

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought counted dispersion and clashes as the most important hurdles on the way of Muslim unity.

He called intrigues and disagreement as the only solution of the arrogant powers and warned that the enemies are making the best of Muslim disunity.

He called late founder of the Islamic Revolution, late Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini (RA) as the founder of the global uprisings to prevail unity saying that the uprising is an invitation to convergence and is not confined to Islamic states rather it is a spiritual movement.

Iranian cleric referred to launching the commission on World against Violence on the sideline of Islamic Unity Conference and noted that the group is formed following the proposal by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the UN general assembly and is set to reach a global consensus to confront violence and terror.

He also called formation of Islamic Peace Committee as another axis of the conference and added that the committee is set to bridge the nations with governments.

Ayatollah Araki referred to the bloodshed in Syria, Egypt and Bahrain and said the clashes have to come an end through dialogue same way that Syria situation is led to Geneva talks.

Senior cleric referred that holy Qur’an is containing the language and message common among all Islamic denominations; hence, one of the ways to reach unity is through the holy book of Islam.

He said that one of the hurdles for Islamic unity is lack of trust among them and demanded,” Why should Persian Gulf states do not trust Iran which has been their ally throughout history rather they trust the US which is ill-famed?”

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought warned against disrespecting Shia and Sunni Muslims in satellite programs and called for boosting fraternal relations among all Islamic denominations same way that followers of different Islamic schools of thought were at peace in Syria and Iraq.

He stressed protection of Islamic countries as a mission of all Muslims and said the objective is realized only through unity.
