Commander: Iranian Army Ground Force Producing More Powerful, Destructive Missiles

Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said the personnel and experts under his command have boosted the destruction power of army missiles.
“Rockets and missiles used by the Army Ground Force have been upgraded in terms of range, power of destruction and precision,” Pourdastan told FNA on Tuesday.

Praising the efforts made by Ground Force exports, the General said that different kinds of simulators for training pilots and snipers have also been produced domestically.

“… we have indigenized and produced armored personnel carriers, electronic warfare equipment, Zolfaqar tanks and sniper weapons with a range of three kilometers,” he added.

Earlier this year, Brigadier General Pourdastan had said that the Iranian Armed Forces should be equipped with state-of-the-art, home-made weapons and use new techniques and tactics to be ready for repelling any kind of enemy aggressions.

“Enjoying advanced, home-made equipment and using new techniques, tactics and correct training should stand atop the Armed Forces’ agenda, specially the Ground Forces,” Pourdastan said, addressing the graduation ceremony of a number of military cadets in Tehran.

He also stressed the necessity for continued improvement of the country’s defensive power during peacetime, and said, “During the peacetime, the Armed Forces should always be ready to defend the land and entity of the Islamic Republic and this important task will be possible (materialized) through enhancing the defensive and combat readiness.”
