Zarif recommends Sherman to avoid ‘the impossible words

IMG13461396Iran’s foreign ministry has recommended Wendy Sherman to ‘review’ international realities and eschew impossible demands.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, who was speaking after the meeting with the Secretary-general of theOrganization of Islamic Cooperation in a joint press conference, reacted to Sherman’s recent remarks. “Our spokeswoman had announced the official Iranian position on these remarks. As well-rendered by the US president in one of his interviews two months ago in a Washington think-tank, the US has ‘unattainable’ demands, and for this reason, the US would seek negotiation with the Islamic Republic to solve the crisis based on real information,” Zarif told the press.

Zarif recommended Mrs. Sherman to ‘review’ realities of international relations and to avoid remarks which would only help inside the US. Some of these remarks are only for domestic use and would stymie the path to ultimate solution. We have long announced that Iran’s nuclear rights are not negotiable, and debate on Iran’s nuclear sites would go nowhere,” Zarif was quoted to say.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks ways to reach a mutual understanding and to advertise its peaceful objectives for those who would prefer to know,” Zarif added, “we would negotiate on this base, and our people and all parties to the negotiation would know well that it will not leave even an iota of Iranians’ rights.”

Zarif told the press that he and Secretary Kerry discussed nuclear issue, and that “I reiterated to Kerry that it was not the question of authority to discuss the Syrian crisis, but that it is Iran’s policy to discuss only nuclear issues with the US officials.”

“The foreign ministry has a carte blanche to discuss whatever it wished, but it is our policy to discuss only the nuclear issue with the US,” he added.
