Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli emphasized once again the defensive doctrine of Iran’s military forces.
The Iranian commander Saturday underlined that a new achievement of Iranian experts to detect enemies’ stealth aircrafts is another move in line with Iran’s defense doctrine, saying Iran will never attack any country.
Esmayeeli added that the enemy can no longer conceal itself since the new Digital Direction Finder (DDF) system has become fully operational.
The system can easily detect the direction of flying targets with highest degree of precision, making it impossible for stealth aircraft to hide from our sight, the Iranian commander said.
He added that the system has very good performance in electronic warfare and is fully immune to jamming systems. The commander said the system reduces time of decision-making but increases speed of action.
Late in September, Esmayeeli announced that Iran has developed a system, called ‘Yavar Project’, which is capable of diverting and destroying anti-radar missiles.
“The Yavar Project is a fully indigenized system whose scientific, research and technical stages have been completed by the young experts at Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base,” Esmayeeli said.
Noting that Yavar Project was built in two stages, he said, “In the first stage its main and regional radar was designed, and in the second step, the its missile system was designed and put into operation.”
Esmayeeli explained that using Yavar Project’s capabilities, the Iranian Armed Forces can divert anti-radar missiles – which use the signals emitted from the radar to target that radar system – from their trajectory in a way that it will hit a target desired by the Iranian forces.
“Using this missile diversion and redirecting system, we will be able to avoid incidents like the Soubashi Radar Site”, a catastrophic event during the 1980s Iraqi-imposed war in which all the Iranian radar crew were killed.
