“At least 82 Saudi-led forces were killed as they were attempting to open their way into Yemen’s border regions through Tawwal crossing which links Jizan province in the Southern part of the kingdom to Northern Yemen,” Senior Ansarullah Commander Ali al-Houthi told FNA on Wednesday.

He noted that five armored vehicles of the Saudi forces were also destroyed during the clashes with the Yemeni forces.

The Yemeni forces thwarted a similar attack by the Saudi-led forces at Tawwal border crossing.

The Yemeni troops reported tens of casualties on the part of the Saudis following heavy clashes at the border crossing.

In a relevant development on Monday, a large number of Saudi soldiers were killed in a surprise attack of the Yemeni army and popular forces on a strategic military base in the Southern part of the kingdom.

The latest reports said that the Saudi military base is still under the control of the Yemeni forces.

On Saturday, the Yemeni forces’ attacks on Saudi Arabia’s military positions in Southern Saudi Arabia killed and injured several military personnel.

“The Yemeni forces fired several mortar shells on the Saudi positions in Jizan province, killing three Saudi military men and injuring 11 others,” Saudi provincial official Yahya Abdullah Al-Qahtani announced.

Since the start of the military operations led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen in March 2015, more than 80 Saudi military personnel have been killed in Saudi Arabia. This took place through launching mortar rockets and exchange of fire across the border.

Also on Thursday, the Yemeni forces killed 11 Saudi forces in Jizan province with their artillery fire.

The artillery shells were fired at the Southern parts of al-Sawabetah region in Jizan, field sources said.

Yemen’s Qaher-I ballistic missile precisely hit Saudi Arabia’s military bases in Jizan province on Wednesday, inflicting heavy losses on them.

Tens of Saudi troops were killed and dozens more were injured in the missile attack.

Also on Tuesday, the Yemeni army and the popular forces took nearly two dozen Saudi-led coalition troops into captivity in Central Yemen.

At least 20 Saudi troops were captured in heavy clashes with the Yemeni forces near Jawf-Ma’rib intersection in the Central part of Yemen.

The Saudi-led troops were trying to move through Jawf-Ma’rib intersection when they came under Yemeni forces’ ambush.

Last Monday, tens of Saudi-led troops were killed and dozens more were injured in a successful ambush attack by the Yemeni forces in the province of Ma’rib, Central Yemen.

The Yemeni army and the popular forces also took scores of Saudi troops into captivity in Ma’rib province.

Meantime, the Yemeni forces cleared Al-Awa military base and Al-Karba region in the province of Ta’iz.

Al-Karba was the biggest stronghold of the pro-Saudi troops in Jbal al-Habashi (Habashi Mountain) in Ta’iz province.

Several Yemeni civilians have lost their lives over the past three days as Saudi warplanes continue to pound areas across Yemen.
