Conference on Poets of Iran and World to focus on Islamic Awakening

The Conference on ‘Poets of Iran and the World’ will focus on the poetry from the revolutionary countries influenced by the Islamic Awakening, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini said on Tuesday.

Hosseini told a press conference in Tehran that that the current developments in Middle East and North Africa, will affect the world future and determine the destiny of whole Muslim world.

“Since the contemporary Islamic poetry have not been discussed, the Conference will focus on theme of the revolutionary poetry from different countries influenced by the Islamic values upheld by the Islamic Revolution of Iran,’ he said.

Hosseini said that poetry is a bridge which can connect different cultures and ideas and that the Iranian and foreign poets will have a fortune to exchange views in the Conference on Poets of Iran and the World.

He said that as the conference on the Islamic Awakening was successful in conveying the message of Islamic Republic of Iran to the entire Muslim World, the Conference on Poets of Iran and the World will follow the same approach.

The two-day conference on the Islamic Awakening opened on Saturday, with the speech of the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei in the presence of more than 600 Muslim thinkers and scholars from over 80 countries.
