Dara’a: Syrian Army Repels Terrorist Al-Nusra Offensive

The Syrian army warded off an attack by the Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) against several military points in Dara’a, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.

The Syrian army units engaged in fierce clashes with al-Nusra terrorists who were trying to penetrate into the army positions in the surrounding areas of Kharbeh Qazaleh in Northern Dara’a from the direction of Western al-Qariyeh, and repulsed their offensive.

The Al-Nusra Front terrorists sustained heavy losses in clashes with the Syrian army.

Meantime, the terrorist groups launched 7 rocket attacks on residential areas in the city of Azra in Northern Dara’a despite the ceasefire declared across Syria by the UN.

The Syrian army troops also targeted the terrorists’ positions in the plains near the towns of Navi and Abta, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists and their military positions.

In a relevant development last Tuesday, the Syrian army units launched heavy artillery and missile attacks on al-Nusra Front bases in al-Sad district, al-Talabiyeh square, the Southern parts of Basari square and areas near the refugees camp in Dara’a, inflicting several losses on the militants and smashing their weapons and ammunition.

The Syrian army launched an offensive against the positions and moves of the al-Nusra Front terrorists in Dara’a, destroying a missile base and killing two high-ranking commanders.

The army units targeted the al-Nusra’s hideouts and positions near the old customs office by artillery and missile fire, destroying a TOW missile base and the militants’ weapons and equipment.

They also attacked a vehicle carrying the terrorists near al-Misri square, inflicting losses on a number of militants, including Mohammad Jamal Hindawi al-Mosalemeh, the commander of Liwa al-Tawhid battalion and Rashid Abazaid, nom de guerre Abu Moslem, the military commander of Bonyan al-Marsous operations room.
