‘Delusional’ Kerry must resign: Gingrich

Former US House speaker Newt Gingrich has called for Secretary of State John to resign for his “delusional” remarks about climate change.

The former congressman attacked the top US diplomat in a series of tweets on Monday.

During a speech in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday, Secretary Kerry warned that climate change is a “weapon of mass destruction” and is as much of a threat as terrorism and poverty.

“This city, this country, this region, is really on the front lines of climate change,” Kerry said.

“It’s not an exaggeration to say that your entire way of life here is at risk,” he argued. “In a sense, climate change can now be considered the world’s largest weapon of mass destruction, perhaps even, the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.”

Gingrich said Kerry is “out of touch with reality” and he is crafting foreign policy in a “fantasy world.”

He called for Americans to demand that Kerry resign because “a delusional secretary of state is dangerous to our safety.”

“Every American who cares about national security must demand Kerrey’s resignation,” the Republican tweeted, misspelling Kerry’s name.
