DETAILED VIDEO: Hundreds of Migrants Rescued from Mediterranean Sea

According to Sky News, a vessel operated by the Malta-based organization MOAS (Migrant Offshore Aid Station) was radioed by the Italian Coast Guard just after 5 AM (03:00 GMT) on Monday.

Several charities and Italian Coast Guard took part in the operation, which lasted three hours.

Sky’s report shows migrants panicking and jumping into the water in a bid to board the rescue vessel, forcing some of the rescue workers to dive into the water.

One of the rescue workers fell unconscious in the water after swallowing fuel from the migrants’ boat, Sky reports.

He was rescued and has made a full recovery.
