DM: Hagel’s Words about Arms Shipment to Arabs Reveals Objective of Iranophobia Project

The recent words made by US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel discloses why Washington has been promoting Iranophobia in the region in the several years, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said Sunday.
“The US Defense Secretary’s explicit admission that they would sell more weapons to the Persian Gulf littoral states has revealed the goals of their Iranophobia project and shows that they are not thinking of regional security, and are rather seeking to provide their interests and save their crisis-hit economy,” Dehqan said.

“We advise the friendly and brotherly countries in the Persian Gulf to keep vigilant and watch out not to be trapped by the US military’s psychological war,” he added.

“Sustainable security in the region can be achieved in light of good neighborliness, constructive interaction and joint cooperation, relying on trust and distancing from suspicion,” Dehqan underlined.

In relevant remarks yesterday, Senior Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi called on certain regional Arab states to revise their foreign policy towards Iran after some Persian Gulf littoral states forged an alliance with Israel against the recently struck nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers.

“The regional states should define their relations with Iran based on a constructive approach towards establishment of security in Asia instead of adopting a wrong foreign policy based on friendship with the Zionist regime against Iran,” General Rahim Safavi said.

He said the US remains loyal to no one and “royal families and Arab kingdoms should take a lesson from the destiny of Iran’s dethroned king and the slain Libyan dictator, Muammar al-Qaddafi”.

Meantime, he said that the US is a symbol of oppression which has blown a strike on Iran’s interests whenever it has found the chance.

“The historical background of their (Americans) foreign policy shows that they are the government of deception, seduction and bullying,” General Rahim Safavi said.

Also last month, Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani warned that the Zionist regime is attempting to make Arab countries forget their number one enemy which is Israel itself.

The Zionist regime’s propaganda machine has been making hue and cry, since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in order for the Arabs to forget their number one enemy, Rafsanjani said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with participants of a scientific and research gathering to mark solidarity with the Palestinian people.
