DM: Iran Enjoys Best Military Power, But Never Invades Other Countries

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi underlined the defensive nature of the country’s military power, saying that the capability is for crushing possible enemy invasions.

Addressing a ceremony to deliver large numbers of ground-to-ground missile launchers to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force on Sunday, Vahidi praised the Iranian Armed Forces’ power to defend the country.

“The Islamic Iran does not want war with anyone and will never initiate war and conflict, yet, it will not allow anyone to make an aggression or take a hostile action and will mightily crush any invading enemy and will make him regretful of his deeds,” Vahidi stated.

The Iranian Army has recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of its home-made weapons, tools and equipments, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircraft, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, during massive military drills.

Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran’s wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor, specially at a time of heightened threats by the US.

In relevant remarks in October, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the Iranian Armed Forces’ full preparedness as a major deterrent to enemy attacks, and meantime stressed that the country will not step back in case of any foreign aggression.

“Because of their Islamic teachings, Iranian nation are not the men of aggression and invasion but they will not fall short of confronting any aggression,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing Iranian military units in Northeastern province of North Khorassan at the time.

The Leader lauded Iran’s high military preparedness, and stated, “The only reason the power mongers’ motivation for waging war has downgraded or getting weakened is the general readiness of Iranian nation and the defense readiness of the armed forces.”

The Leader said general readiness of Iranian nation, especially the youth, is today in the highest possible level compared to the past and the armed forces are more prepared and more powerful than the past.
