Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan reiterated the country’s unchanging support for Palestine, saying that the Islamic Republic is determined to side with Palestinians “to the end”.

“The key to victory against the Zionist regime (of Israel) and the liberation of the holy Quds (Jerusalem) is unity among all Muslims, including Shiites and Sunnis, and their all-out and pragmatic support for the cause of the Palestinian people,” Dehqan said in a meeting with Ramadan Abdullah, the head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, in Tehran on Tuesday evening.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will stand by the Palestinian people to the end,” the defense minister added.

He further emphasized that the solidarity and integrity of the Resistance Front guarantees realization of the Palestinian cause, adding that any attempt to weaken the front is tantamount to treason against the Palestinian nation and a hurdle in the way to liberate the holy Quds.

Abdullah, for his part, praised Iran’s “outstanding” role in supporting the Palestinian cause, saying that the anti-Israeli resistance is alive and will continue until its outright victory over the Zionist regime.

In a meeting with Abdullah on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also underlined Iran’s commitment to providing support for Palestine, stressing that this approach is not confined to a specific period of time.

“The large-scale war underway in the region today is the continuation of a war that started 37 years ago against the Islamic Republic of Iran and in this confrontation, the issue of Palestine is the main and pivotal issue, and just in the same way that the Islamic Republic of Iran considered supporting Palestine as its duty from the beginning, it will continue to fulfill this duty in the future,” Imam Khamenei said, according to the Leader’s official website.
