Egypt marks revolution anniversary

Rival demonstrations are expected to be held in Egypt as the country marks the third anniversary of the revolution that toppled former dictator Hosni Mubarak.

According to Press TV, supporters and opponents of ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, have called for major protests on Saturday.

Security forces have already blocked off areas in the capital, Cairo, including the iconic Tahrir Square, ahead of the demonstrations.

The Muslim Brotherhood has called for its supporters to take part in demonstrations.

The planned protests come only hours after two bomb explosions hit the capital. The first targeted a police institute and the second was carried out in the Qobba Gardens area.
