Egyptian army blow up 2 underground tunnels

Egyptian military blew up Saturday afternoon two tunnels on the border with Rafah in the southern GazaStrip.

“The troop have bombed two underground tunnels with their entrances inside Egyptian houses at al-Sarsoriya area next to Brazil neighborhood of the Palestinian side, which led to their full destruction amid rising plumes of smoke,” Alray reporter said.

The Egyptian army bombed earlier on Thursday evening and Friday at dawn three tunnels used to smuggle food and goods into the Gaza Strip.

The army had begun the crackdowns on tunnels weeks before the coup against the rule of President Mohamed Morsi took place.

Gaza tunnel workers used to smuggle food supplies, goods and raw building materials that the Israeli occupation refuses to enter to the 1.8 million population.
