Egyptian police use shotguns against Egyptian People

New footage has emerged showing Egyptian security forces using shotguns against the demonstrators who continue to call on the ruling military council to hand over power to a civilian government.

The video came as a violent clampdown on protesters continued on Saturday, more than a week after the first anniversary of the January 25 revolution, which toppled former dictator Hosni Mubarak.

Security forces fired tear gas, which is said to be toxic, to disperse the demonstrators during the clampdown.

Egyptians are angry with the United States for supplying the security forces in the Arab state with the poisonous tear gas.

Saturday marked the third day of clashes between police forces and the protesters since a deadly violence following a football match in the northern city of Port Said which led to the death of 74 people.

The Egyptian riot police continued firing tear gas and birdshot at the protesters in the capital, Cairo, on Saturday after dozens of demonstrators pelted stones at the soldiers guarding the Interior Ministry building near Liberation (Tahrir) Square.

At least nine people were killed in Cairo and Suez over the past two days.

The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) took over after the ouster of Mubarak.
