Egyptians protest in London against Shia killing in Cairo
Hundreds of protesters demonstrate outside the Egyptian Embassy in London to protest the recent killing of four Shia Muslims by Takfiri extremists near Cairo.

The protesters were chanting slogans and holding placards reading, “Stop Shia genocide”, “no to sectarianism”, “shut down the extremist satellite channels” and demanded Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to deliver freedom and justice for all Egyptians.

Moreover, they handed a letter to the Egyptian Ambassador, calling on the government to order an independent and thorough investigation into killing of the four men.

On June 23, several hundred Takfiris attacked and surrounded the house of Shia cleric Sheikh Hassan Shehata in the village of Abu Mussalam in Giza Province. The Takfiris killed the cleric and three of his followers and dragged their bodies on the streets.

Leaders of the Shia community in Egypt also condemned the recent sectarian killings in Egypt and censured the government for what they said was its failure to protect the Shia community.
