Egypt’s new cabinet has been sworn in by President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, who recently won in a presidential election after ousting then President Mohamed Morsi.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday morning in the capital, Cairo.

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab had appointed the new cabinet after Sisi re-appointed him as prime minister.

The cabinet includes 30 ministers, including four women. Most of the ministers, including the ministers of finance, defense, interior, planning, oil, electricity, supplies and communications, are holdovers from the previous interim government.

Outgoing Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy was also replaced by former Ambassador to Washington Sameh Shoukri.

Sisi, who was Egypt’s former military chief, was sworn in as president on June 8 after winning a presidential election boycotted by the Muslim Brotherhood movement. Brotherhood-affiliated Morsi, the country’s first democratically elected president, was ousted by the army in July 2013.

Sisi’s presidency placed Egypt back in the hands of a top military official just three years after a popular uprising against Hosni Mubarak, an air force officer who ruled the North African country for nearly three decades.
