The Syrian army, backed by the country’s warplanes and Russian airstrikes, killed at least eight senior commanders of the so-called Free Syrian Army in Northern Syria in the last one month.

Reports said the senior FSA commanders were killed in the Northern Province of Aleppo in October. Tens of other ranking commanders of the terrorist groups have been killed in different parts of Aleppo since the start of the new operations by the Syrian army, NDF and Hezbollah forces.

Meanwhile, Syrian Army Spokesman General Ali Muaeeb said that ISIL’s centers have been targeted hard by the Syrian Ground and Air Forces in various parts of the Northern province of Aleppo.

General Muaeeb said that the ISIL terrorist group’s strongholds in Deir Hafer, Um Arjeleh, Ramouseh, Karm Maiser, Ma’aret al-Artiq, Sousan, Tadef and Rasm al-Abd came under heavy attacks of the Syrian fighter bombers, which not only claimed the lives of tens of militants, but also destroyed their sites’ infrastructures.

He further added that the ISIL militants’ gathering centers in Ramouseh-Sheikh Saeed route, the Air Force Academy, Assfeirah, al-Nairab, Hreitan and Sheikh Ahmad were stormed by the Syrian army.

The spokesman further added that the ISIL suffered heavy death toll in the army operations in the abovementioned fighting areas.

Military sources said on Monday that the Eastern side of Al-Hadher region in the Southern part of Aleppo city fell into the hands of the government forces after the Syrian Army and Hezbollah fighters pushed the militant groups back from the region.

The Syrian army alongside the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement stormed the militant positions in al-Hadher in the Southern side of Aleppo city and retook full control over the region after killing and wounding scores of the terrorists.

Also on Monday, the sources said that the Syrian army, popular forces and Hezbollah fighters, in massive operation, pushed back the militant groups from Aleppo-Hama border and seized full control over Ahad mountainous region.

The Syrian army alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah fighters launched a joint massive operation against the militant groups’ positions in the Southern territories of Aleppo province bordering the Northeastern parts of Hama province, the sources said.

The government forces’ heavy attacks forced the militants to retreat from the fighting area.

The strategic Ahad mountains are now under full control of the Syrian army troops.

The militants, meantime, suffered heavy death toll in the Ahad operation.

Simultaneous with the advances on the ground, the Syrian and Russian fighter jets carried out many sorties and hit the militants’ defense lines hard.

Battlefield sources informed on Monday that most militant positions, mainly those of ISIL, have come under large-scale operations of the Syrian army, popular forces and Hezbollah in Northeast, East and Southeast Aleppo.

The army razed to the ground the terrorists’ strongholds in Hreitan, al-Shamir and Talat al-Shawaya in Northeastern Aleppo.

Tens of Takfiri terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured in heavy clashes with the army.

Also, the terrorist positions in al-Hader, Kifr Halab, Khalsah, Sheikh Ahmad, al-Muqbila, al-Muflisa and Deir Hafer on the Eastern and Southeastern sides of Aleppo were also massively stormed by the Syrian army, Hezbollah fighters and the NDF, the sources said.

They further added that there have been reports of mass destruction of the militants’ positions and their heavy casualties as a result of the government forces operations in the abovementioned locations.

The militants’ centers in East and Southeast of Aleppo city were heavily targeted by the Syrian and Russian fighter bombers before the government forces’ ground operation.

The Syrian army liberated 13 towns and villages in Aleppo province on Saturday and Sunday.
