Enemy of Islam zionist Saudi warplanes pound several areas in crisis-hit Yemen

Saudi military aircraft have conducted a fresh round of attacks against several areas across Yemen as Riyadh presses ahead with its military campaign against its impoverished southern neighbor.

Riyadh’s fighter jets launched airstrikes against Mafraq region in the northern Yemeni province of al-Jawf, located approximately 110 kilometers (68 miles) north of the capital, Sana’a, late on Friday, Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.

There were no immediate reports of possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.

Saudi warplanes also carried out six airborne assaults against an area in the city of Sirwah, which lies about 120 kilometers (75 miles) east of the capital, though no reports of casualties were available.

Separately, Saudi aircraft launched four air raids on various areas across Yemen’s central province of Ma’rib, however, no casualties were reported.

Yemenis respond

Yemeni army soldiers and members of allied popular committees also fired a barrage of missiles at Khizra military base in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern border city of Najran.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia has confirmed that one of its Apache AH-64 attack helicopters has crashed while flying close to the border with Yemen.

Saudi Arabia’s official SPA news agency reported that the aircraft went down in the Jizan region of the kingdom, adding that an inquiry had been launched into the causes of the crash.

Yemeni army soldiers and fighters from the revolutionary Houthi Ansarullah movement claimed responsibility for the downing, noting that both the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash.

The Apache chopper was targeted by a surface-to-air missile, al-Masiral television network reported.

Yemeni troopers and their allies also thwarted three militant offensives on Ra’s al-Aqaba region, which lies between the southern provinces of Abyan and al-Bayda, destroying two cars and three Humvee military vehicles.

An unspecified number of rockets launched by Yemeni soldiers and fighters from popular committees landed inside al-Tala’a base in the Saudi city of Najran, though no casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, four suspected members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) have been killed in a US drone strike in Yemen’s central province of Ma’rib.

Tribal sources, requesting anonymity, said the three were riding in a vehicle in the desert region of Harib, when they were struck early on Friday.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in a bid to undermine Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to the country’s fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Over 4,300 people have been killed in the Yemeni conflict, the World Health Organization said on August 11. Local Yemeni sources, however, say the fatality figure is much higher.
