Enemy Strictly Avoiding Any Conflict with Iran: IRGC Commander

Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari highlighted the IRGC Navy’s deterrent power in international waters and said the enemy avoids any conflict with the forces because it knows that it would be to its detriment.

Thank God, today, the IRGC Navy as a powerful and deterrent force is playing a major role in preserving the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, Major General Jafari said during a speech in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Monday.

“The capabilities of this force (IRGC Navy), in terms of technology, tactics and strategies, are up-to-date and geared to the advancement of technologies at the highest level…,” he said.

The commander further described the employment of faithful and revolutionary individuals as a vital factor behind the IRGC Navy’s power and said, “It is natural that the enemy strictly avoids any conflict because it knows that it would end to its detriment.”

In a Wednesday statement commemorating the National Day of Defense Industry, the IRGC said the Iranian Armed Forces are duty bound to promote their defense capabilities and deterrent power.

With a defense and military structure on the lowest possible budget, and in spite of all hostile plots, the Islamic Republic has become the “hub of defense and deterrent might in the region,” the statement added.

The IRGC said Iran has “reached such a level of defensive deterrence that has discouraged the archenemies and belligerent adversaries from any adventurism or carrying out the threat of aggression against the Islamic homeland.”

A day earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned the enemies of the heavy costs of any military action against the country, saying the existing unity among the Iranian people, Leadership and Armed Forces has made the Islamic Republic unbeatable.
