“Enhancing the Arab-Kurdish-Turkman brotherhood”: Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), stressed that ambitions, dreams and aspirations are the right of everyone provided they stem from the constitution’s horizon. His Eminence added saying, in his speech which he delivered during the festivity of announcing the forming of a new political movement called “We Started” led by former interior minister Mr. Jawad al-Boolani at the Ilwiyya Club in Baghdad on Saturday, December 1, 2012, added saying that if these ambitions crisscross, there is no option except to reach an understanding, hold a dialogue, communicate and go back to the constitutional authorities which we put for ourselves, and we have to solve our problems through this method.
His Eminence stressed that the tanks cannot solve the crises, nor could world wars during the past century, nor could the wars which the past regime led against neighboring states. His Eminence wondered, “Were the wards in world countries a reason in the solution so we may resort to them in Iraq and solve our problems through them?”
His Eminence expressed in his speech his hope that the options for solving the crises will be confined to enhancing the Arab-Kurdish-Turkman brotherhood, in addition to strengthening the Shiite-Sunni brotherhood and the Islamic-Christian-Yazidi-Sabian brotherhood, stressing that the Iraqis are united in one homeland that brings them all together, and that there is no choice except that we hold understandings among us to love this homeland, to be keen about it and about the interests of its citizens.
