Erdoğan calls the peaceful protesters ‘robbers’

Turkey Prime Minister has described the protestors as ‘robbers’ during the third day of widespread protests.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed from the very beginning of the protests in Turkey, that he would not lend any importance to the demonstrators, and described the protesters as ‘thieves.’

Erdoğan has already called the Taksim Square protesters as ‘radical’ and stressed that the security forces would not leave the square And will not let the ‘extremists’ do whatever they want.

In the security forces and police violent reactions to the protesters, so far more than 100 people have been injured.

Muammer Guler, Turkey’s interior minister said that number of wounded had reached to around 170 people. However, many human rights organizations have put the number believed the number is far beyond that.

Human Rights Watch also reported yesterday that 2 people have been killed during the clashes in Turkey. Also people say the death toll is far beyond that.

People in Ankara yesterday, began protesting in support of their fellow citizens in Istanbul. Ankara police fired tear gas at the people to disperse the protests which were held peacefully.
