US, KSA multi-billion funds blocks Cairo-Tehran ties

n00129119-bAhmad Bakhshayeshi, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at Iran’s Parliament in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the social situation in Egypt and the reasons for expansion of political and economic ties between the US, Saudi Arabia and the new government in Egypt.

He referred to the importance of Egypt for its multi-million population, quoted the saying that,” There is a quote which says No war is possible without Egypt and no peace is possible without Syria,” noted the 18 times of reference to the name of Egypt in the holy book of Islam and highlighted the River Nile as a reason for prosperity in this country.

Iranian MP said,” In contrast to all these positive points, about five million Egyptians live in cemeteries and tough economic conditions besides the 44 per cent of the people who live below poverty line which in total motivates the Egyptian government to expand its ties with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the US and the Zionist regime of Israel.”

He referred to an annual amount of $10 billion aid by Saudi Arabia for Egypt and said,” Egypt is also thinking of guaranteeing the security of more than 2 million Egyptian nationals living in Saudi Arabia.” And added,” On the other hand the US is funding Egypt with an annual sum of $ 2 million to persuade the government to resume its relations with the Zionist Regime of Israel.”

Iranian MP also referred to the different groups in Egypt’s presidential election and said,” Since 1928, Muslim Brotherhood was founded by Hassan al Bana while the government constantly cracked down the movement and now that Muslim Brotherhood is empowered in the country, it is moving conservatively.”

He said,” President Mohammad Morsi has much motivation to expand Cairo-Tehran ties while Saudi Arabia and the US are hindering the event because certainly that is opposite to their interests.”
