The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei says armed resistance by Palestinians is “the only way” to confront the Zionist regime of Israel.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks among university students in Tehran on Wednesday, adding that a referendum in the region would put an end to the regime.

Tel Aviv’s “unimaginable crimes” show the “innate reality” of Israel, whose “only cure is annihilation,” said the Leader.

“Of course until then, Palestinians’ resolute, armed resistance and its expansion to the West Bank is the only way to confront this savage regime,” Imam Ali Khamenei noted.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated that the annihilation of Israel does not mean the massacre of Jews in the region.

Through a referendum, the people living and belonging in the region would select their desired government, Ayatollah Khamenei added.

“We believe that the West Bank should also be armed like Gaza and those who are interested in Palestine’s destiny should act in this regard.”

Israeli warplanes have been carrying out incessant airstrikes against the blockaded Gaza Strip since July 8. On July 17, thousands of Israeli soldiers launched a ground invasion into the densely-populated strip.

So far, nearly 700 people have been killed and thousands of others injured by the Israeli regime’s offensive against the coastal sliver despite pressure from the international community.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.
