Families of Aazaz Abductees Refuse Accusations Regarding Turkish Pilots

The families of the Lebanese pilgrims that were kidnapped in the Syrian town of Aazaz announced a number of actions in response to the judiciary warrants issued against them and also considered that the accusations hamper the efforts to liberate the abductees as they clasify their families as criminals.

The abductees’ families issued a statement which questioned the Lebanese government’s duties of informing the Interpol about the kidnappers who used to navigate through the Turkish borders.

“The government charges our emotions and shackle our hands, yet we will have extensive contacts to pursue the issue,” the statement added, ” We are kidnapped, not kidnappers.”

“We have learned, so far, about the judiciary warrants via media outlets, not officially,” Hayat Awaly, said.

Eleven pilgrims were kidnapped in May 2012 in northern Syrian province of Aleppo as they returned by land from visiting the holy shrines in Iran. Two of them were released last August and September.
