Ferguson situation over death of black teen takes ominous turn: Analyst

article-2724528-20843B3100000578-979_634x424An American analyst says that the situation in Ferguson, Missouri and protests over the police shooting of Michael Brown are taking “an ominous turn.”

“The situation in Ferguson, Missouri is taking an ominous turn with an autopsy report,” which shows “Brown was shot at least six times including twice in the head contrary to earlier reports that he had been shot twice in the back and then five times from the front,” James Henry Fetzer, an editor of Veterans Today, told Press TV on Monday.

The autopsy by St. Louis County chief medical examiner Mary Case suggests that Brown was shot from the front with six gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Fetzer said the autopsy result shows Brown “may have been thrown already on the ground or at least had his head incline with a slump which suggests even a state of unconsciousness (and) this is very very disturbing.”

He went on to say that the police oppression of protesters with military equipment is an “alarming” situation.

“It’s very alarming because of the massive response of the Ferguson police using all of this military equipment which has become a horrendous problem in the United States,” he noted.

“This is going to provoke a huge public discussion about the militarization of our police forces which appears to be a very ominous development because it alters the relationship between the police and the community,” he stated.

He said that providing police with military equipment encourages them to use them against people. “Providing this equipment means the police can be all too eager to use it.”

New protests are again being held in Ferguson s the governor of Missouri has ordered National Guard soldiers to join the riot police amid mounting racial tension.
