The conglomerate of terrorist militias “Ansar Al-Shari’ah” continued the second week of their large-scale offensive in the western sector of Aleppo City, attacking the Great Prophet Mosque, Building 11, Aleppo Orphanage, Justice Palace, and the Air Force Intelligence building inside the Al-Zahra Association Quarter for the fifth time in five days.

Undeterred by the persistent attacks on their positions inside the Al-Zahra Association Quarter, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – in coordination with Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigades), National Defense Forces (NDF), and Hezbollah – withstood the Islamist assault and pushed back the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from Jund Al-Aqsa and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham to the outskirts of this area.

Meanwhile, south of the Al-Zahra Association Quarter, the Syrian Armed Forces carried out another powerful assault at the Scientific Research Facility, where they were able to assert full fire control over the building for a short period of time before the militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham were able to reenter the western sector – ongoing clashes between the two parties.

The militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham – in coordination with Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen – launched a surprise attack at the village of Al-Hamidiyah and the nearby Al-Qara’ Checkpoint in southern Aleppo, resulting in a fierce eight hour firefight between the Islamists and the Syrian Armed Forces.

Finally, after eight hours of non-stop firefights, the Syrian Armed Forces (SAA and Liwaa Al-Quds) were able to assert control over every defensive barrier inside the village of Al-Hamidiyah and the Al-Qara’ Checkpoint; these two sites are located near the Syrian Government’s main supply route on the Khanasser Highway.
