FNA Chief Calls on ‘Real Friends of Syria’ to Assist Damascus in Media War

Fars News Agency Managing-Director Seyed Nezamoddin Moussavi blasted the ongoing smear campaign run by the western media against Syria, and called on the true friends of Syria to assist Damascus in its media war with enemies.

“I am confident that the people and government of Syria will, God willing, overcome this crisis and plot fast. Yet, the true friends of Syria are today needed to get involved in the media war on Syria and reciprocate the enemy’s media operations,” Moussavi said in a meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham.

Moussavi stressed FNA’s special attention to the developments in Syria, adding that FNA feels duty-bound to inform the world of the realities on the ground in the Muslim country.

“We tried to fill part of the media vacuum regarding the realities of Syria. There are good capacities in the Islamic Republic of Iran which can definitely be used to shed light on the realities of Syria,” he stated, adding that FNA has played a key role in unveiling the true nature of the terrorists fighting the Syrian government.

Moussavi visited Damascus late in October to inaugurate the FNA bureau in Damascus.

He also met with several other high-ranking Syrian officials during his stay in Damascus.

The FNA managing-director signed a memorandum of understanding with head of the Syrian news agency (SANA) on mutual cooperation.
