Foreign envoys N-tour report positive

Iran says international visitors to its nuclear sites have published their observations in a report further confirming the civilian nature of the country’s nuclear pursuit.

Representatives from the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Non-aligned Movement (NAM), Group of 77 and the Arab League (AL) arrived in Tehran on Saturday upon a invitation from Iran which showed the country’s good-will.

The delegates, from more than 120 countries, visited the heavy water reactor in the central Iranian city of Arak on the first leg of their two-day tour of the country’s nuclear sites. The envoys then toured enrichment facility in Natanz on Sunday.

“Today the report on the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear facilities by NAM and Group of 77 envoys, who represented 120 countries, was published,” Iran’s Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh told IRNA on Friday.

“In this report, in addition to an elaborate description of the visit and the explanations offered [by Iranian experts], the envoys’ observations and excerpts from the points offered by Secretary of National Security Council Saeed Jalili and caretaker Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi have been included,” he went on to say.

Soltanieh stated that the report serves as a clear message to the world, confirming the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activity.
