Foreign Minister is excellently recovering

Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim assured that Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem is excellently recovering after surgery.

Al-Moallem underwent on Friday a scheduled successful heart surgery at the American University of Beirut. The medical team who conducted the surgery said the operation was a great success and that Minister al-Moallem will be back to his normal health condition and will be able to carry out his activities and tasks soon.

Ambassador Abdul-Karim affirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the Minister’s health condition is positively, comfortably and steadily improving, noting that a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors and national political and party leaderships in Lebanon visited al-Moallem in hospital.

One of those was the Iranian Ambassador in Beirut Ghadanfar Rokn Abadi who visited Minister al-Moallem today and wished him sppedy recovery in the name of his country’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Rokn Abadi met the family of the Syrian Minister and Ambassador Abdul-Karim and expressed to them his wishes that al-Moallem will soon recover and restore his good health.

Abdul-Karim received a phone call from former Lebanese Prime Minister Selim El-Hoss who wanted to check on al-Moallem’s health situation and wished speedy recovery for the Minister.

Earlier, Abdul-Karim stressed that al-Moallem has been receiving excellent medical care at the American University of Beirut and quoted doctors as saying that the Minister quickly responded to treatment and that his condition was normal and stable.
