Foreign Ministry: Terrorist Act in al-Iman Mosque Aims at Spreading Takfiri Thinking

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Friday stressed that the terrorist act which targeted scholar Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti bears the hallmarks of al-Qaeda and its allies.

In a letter addressed to the President of the Security Council and the UN Secretary General, the Ministry said that this terrorist act “indicates the obscurantist and takfiri thinking which those seek to spread by all means in Syria and the world to destroy the values of tolerance and moderation on which Islam is based.”
