Foreign terrorists occupy homes in Aleppo for sniper attacks on Syrian forces

The foreign-sponsored insurgents in Syria use the homes of ordinary people in the flashpoint city of Aleppo to carry out sniper attacks on Syrian security forces, Press TV reports.

The foreign terrorists force the residents out of their homes and use the seized houses to target the Syrian soldiers.

“Armed men occupy people’s houses and kick them out. We abandoned our houses when they arrived in the area,” said a Syrian resident.

“They were all men with weapons. They expelled us from our houses yelling that the army is coming to kill us. But when the army found us — may God protect them — they brought us a car” and took us to a safe location, said another resident.

Another Syrian said, “We don’t dare to go out… our children are on the streets. Some children are hiding in the basements. They are not eating.”

Meanwhile, the Syrian army is still engaged in operations to clear Aleppo neighborhoods of the insurgents, who have turned several areas in the country’s northwestern commercial hub into hideouts.

On Saturday, the army killed scores of insurgents during intense clashes in the northwestern town of Taftanaz. The Syrian forces also destroyed several pickup trucks equipped with machine guns.

The Syrian soldiers also thwarted an attempt by heavily-armed insurgents to capture a key airbase in the north of the country.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.

Recently, footage circulated on the Internet, showing terrorists brutally executing a group of Syrian soldiers in the northwestern province of Idlib.

Rupert Colville, spokesman for UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, said on Friday that it was “very likely that this was a war crime” and that the video can be used as “evidence” to bring the perpetrators to justice.
