Hundreds protest in Vienna against the Israeli aggression in Gaza

Nearly 300 people protested in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Sunday against the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, which has now entered its 28th day.

Anadolu news agency reported that the protest was organised by the Activists for Austria and Palestine group via social networking sites in an attempt to mobilise opposition to Israel’s killing of innocent people in the Gaza Strip.

The protesters, who gathered outside the Opera Square in Vienna, held placards reading, “Freedom for Palestine”, “Israel is killing children” and “Silence is a war crime”.

They listed the injustice and aggression carried out by Israel on the Palestinian enclave.

Several tourists also joined the event.

Addressing the protesters, Isra’ Dougman said that more than 1,700 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have so far been killed during the aggression carried out by Israel, and that the Israeli army is bombing schools, kindergartens and hospitals.

Dougman pointed out that the Israeli army is using internationally banned weapons in its assault on Palestinians in Gaza and that Israel is attacking civilians and infrastructure, as well as killing entire families.

She said: “Maybe you are Muslims, Christians or Jews, but this does not matter; what is important is your humanity. Return to your humanity and stand beside the oppressed.”
