Fresh clashes erupt between pro, anti-Morsi protesters in Cairo

Fresh clashes have broken out between the supporters and opponents of ousted Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi, in Cairo, prompting police intervention.

Police fired tear gas to break up the clashes that occurred near the Ministry of Endowments in central Cairo on Tuesday.
According to Press TV, the violence came as Morsi supporters demonstrated outside several government ministries in the capital.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Coup Alliance, which supports Morsi, has called for a million-man demonstration in support of the deposed president.
The call comes after the army-backed interim government threatened to disperse thousands of pro-Morsi protesters who have set up two huge protest camps in Cairo.
They have been holding demonstrations and sit-ins on an almost daily basis since the army ousted Morsi last month.
The protesters are calling for the reinstatement of the country’s first democratically elected president.
Egypt has plunged into unrelenting unrest since July 3, when the country’s powerful army removed Morsi from office and declared chief Justice of Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, as the interim president.
