FSA Suffers Heavy Casualties in Clashes with Army Soldiers in Syria’s Quneitra

The Syrian Army, deployed in the Southwestern province of Quneitra, repelled the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) offensive and pushed the terrorist group back from the battlefield.

The FSA fighters stormed Tal Qareen in Golan Heights, striking the hilltop’s Western side with a barrage of powerful mortar shells and rockets in order to Weaken the Syrian army’s line of defense before storming their positions.

After the heavy shelling the FSA forces attempted to repeatedly break-through the Syrian soldiers’ defense lines at the Western perimeter of Tal Qareen; however, their attacks were repelled by the government forces.

The FSA left behind several dead and wounded members and fled the battlefield to evade more casualties.

Reports said on Wednesday that the ISIL’s fortified sites and positions in several towns across the Southwestern province of Quneitra came under the Syrian army’s heavy artillery barrage.

The sources said the army’s artillery units have been pounding militant’s fortified positions in in al-Hamidiyeh, Um Batineh and Mashara in Southern Quneitra province since early Wednesday, inflicting heavy losses and damage on the militants.

In a separate operation, the Syrian Army troops and popular fighters thwarted the militant groups’ attacks on the positions of the government forces in Krum Jebba, al-Ajraf and Eastern al-Samadaniyeh in the North of Quneitra city.

In recent weeks, the Syrian army troops have been pounding the terrorist groups’ strongholds and positions in Quneitra province, pushing back an ISIL offensive on its positions in a mountainous area in Quneitra province.
