The Gaza Strip has come under fire by the Israeli military in yet another act of aggression against the blockaded Palestinian enclave.

According to reports, the Israeli military’s artillery targeted a checkpoint belonging to al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement, in the eastern part of the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

There has been no immediate report on possible casualties.

Meanwhile, Israeli sources said three rockets fired from Gaza have targeted the regime’s armored vehicles stationed east of Gaza’s Rafah border city.

Israeli forces carry an injured soldier from the scene of a rocket attack east of the Gazan city of Rafah on May 5, 2016.

Two rockets from the besieged Palestinian strip also struck an Israeli settler outpost in Eshkol.

Earlier on Thursday, at least four people were injured in Israeli airstrikes against different areas in Gaza.

The airborne assault came hours after Israeli warplanes launched at least five airstrikes against an open area near the Yasser Arafat International Airport in the border town of Rafah. No casualties were reported.

The Ezzedine Qassam Brigades, the military wing of resistance movement Hamas, warned the Israeli regime to stop the attacks.

Islamic Jihad also released a statement warning Tel Aviv against any escalation.

Israel continues to carry out attacks on the Palestinian strip from time to time.

In early July 2014, the regime launched a 50-day offensive against Gaza, killing nearly 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, and injuring Over 11,100 others.
