Gazans undeterred by Israeli killings: Hamas leader

Elected and legal Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has vowed revenge on the Israel, saying the Palestinian resistance is undeterred by Tel Aviv’s deadly attacks.

“Our enemy does not know our nature: these people (Palestinians) have the ability to stand up to the enemy,” Haniyeh stated in a televised speech on Thursday.

“These people are not afraid of the enemy; these people are capable of taking revenge,” he went on to say.

“The occupation is used to killing innocent people,” said the Hamas leader, stressing that the Palestinians are determined to preserve their national unity.

The Palestinian nation will not allow the blood of Ahmed Ja’abari, a top Hamas commander who was killed by an Israeli strike in the Gaza City on Wednesday, to go to waste, Haniyeh added.

“Ja’abari re-wrote history… Ja’abari’s blood pumped life in the veins of the Arab Spring…this killing has brought a new spirit into the bodies of people,” Haniyeh pointed out.

He further expressed his appreciation to Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, who called an emergency meeting of Arab League foreign ministers due to be held in Cairo on Saturday.

Morsi has condemned the Israeli aggression as “unacceptable” and warned it could lead to instability in the region.

The Egyptian president also recalled the country’s ambassador to Israel on Wednesday and ordered the foreign ministry to summon the Israeli envoy over the Israeli attacks against Gazans.

Hamas says Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil plans to visit the Gaza Strip in a show in a show of support “for the Palestinian people in the shadow of the Israeli war against them in Gaza.”
