Ghusain: Israel failed to silence the voice of truth

“The Israeli occupation failed to silence the voice of truth, because the resilient local media succeeded in strengthening the home front and in exposing the Israeli massacres against the defenseless,” said Spokesman for the Palestinian Government.
Mr Ihab al-Ghusain’s statement came during a sit-in organized by al-Aqsa satellite TV and Ministry of Information in observance of the first anniversary of Israel’s November 2012 aggression.
It also coincided with the fall of journalists Hossam Salamah and Mahmoud al-Komy during the Israeli offensive. Ghusain stressed that “journalists managed to convey the truth and expose the Israeli crimes to the world,”
He pointed out that “the remains of the car the two journalists had been driving shall remain a witness of the crime embodied in Israel targeting journalists,”
“Media workers’ coverage during the war proved the Palestinian people have the right to independence and dignity and the Israeli occupation shall fall,” Ghusain added.
Head of Al-Aqsa Media Network Salah Bardawil said “Al-Aqsa TV cameramen Hussam Salama and Mahmoud Komi were beacons of steadfastness and challenge,”
For his part, Director General of Al-Aqsa TV Mohammed al-Thoraya said “the blood of the martyrs will teach the world that Palestine is worth the sacrifice,” pointing out that “the media message will continue despite the blockade and targeting,”
“Two of the media movement had been killed, and 12 wounded while on duty during the last war,” Thoraya said noting that “the bombing of the Al-Aqsa TV buildings more than once will not keep us from continuing to do our part,”
Al-Resalah Newspaper editor-in-chief Wesam Afifa said “The journalists confronted Israel’s murder with their cameras; history has shown that the camera got occupation powers to stand international trials.”
