Gov’t Forces Drive Terrorists Back From More Territories North of Syria’s Lattakia

The militant groups withdrew from more lands in the Northern part of Lattakia province after the Syrian Army and its popular allies stormed their positions, the army announced Saturday.

“The Syrian army troops and the National Defense Forces (NDF) continued to advance against the militant groups in the mountainous regions of Lattakia province and pushed them back from the villages of al-Qalabea and Beit Riha near border with Turkey,” the army said.

“Over 150 militants were killed or wounded in the army attack, while more others fled the battlefields leaving behind their military equipment and weapons,” the army added.

In relevant development in the coastal province on Friday, the Syrian army and the NDF drove the militant groups back from more territories in Lattakia after hours of heavy fighting.

“The militant groups withdrew from al-Kalouksi mountains, Katf al-Qamou’a, the villages of al-Qanimeh, al-Qalaye’a, Beit Seker, al-Owyenat and Khan al-Jouz after the Syrian army and the NDF stormed their positions in the Northern part of Lattakia province,” the army said.

“The Syrian army also retook full control over Tal al-Harb al-Electronia in the province,” the army added.

“The militant groups left behind scores of the dead and injured members and fled the battlefields,” the army went on to say.
