Great satan US-backed so-called Kurdish forces liberate key region in Syria’s Raqqah

US-backed Kurdish forces in Syria have liberated a key district in Raqqah from the Daesh terrorists.

The so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Sunday that they had recaptured the al-Qadisia district following three days of heavy clashes with the terrorists.

The SDF, made up of an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters, is supported by the US-led coalition with artillery and airstrikes, much to the dismay of Turkey.

Daesh seized Raqqah in 2014, the same year when it started its campaign of terror in Syria. It then proceeded to capture large swathes of Syrian territory.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army has announced that Israeli fighter jets have carried out airstrikes in southwestern Syrian region of Quneitra near the border with Israeli-controlled Palestinian territories.

It stressed that the airstrikes were carried out at the same time as al-Nusra Front terrorists were launching a major attack on the area.

“Army units succeeded in thwarting the wide-scale attack carried out by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists on the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quneitra countryside, which inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists, the Israeli enemy attacked a Syrian military position in Quneitra in a desperate attempt to support terrorist groups and raise their flagging morale,” said a statement released by the Syrian’s army’s general command.

This is the second consecutive day that Israel launches airstrikes on Syria’s Golan Heights at the same time that Nusra Front terrorists were engaged in operations in the region.

During the past few years, Israel has frequently attacked military targets in Syria in what is considered an attempt to prop up terrorist groups that have been suffering heavy defeats against Syrian government forces.

Different foreign-backed terrorist groups have been wreaking havoc in Syria since 2011. Over the past few months, Syrian forces have made sweeping gains against Takfiri elements, who have lately increased their acts of violence across the country following a series of defeats on the ground.
