Great Satan US hiding terrorist nature behind HR claims, war on terror: Iran MP

An Iranian lawmaker says the Great Satan United States is the initiator of state terrorism in the world and its human rights claims and so-called war on terror are intended to its “terrorist, criminal face.”

“Washington seeks to conceal its terrorist, criminal face behind a mask of support for human rights and countering terrorism,” Iran’s Majlis official news agency, ICANA, quoted Mohammad-Saleh Jokar as saying on Friday.

Jokar cited “the terrorist acts by Washington’s military forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and other countries of the Middle East and the world” as ample proof to the US government’s terrorist nature.

The lawmaker, who is member of Iran Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, further denounced Washington’s false accusations against the Islamic Republic as part of its failed “Iranophobia” project.

The US baselessly accuses Iran of backing terrorists whereas many terrorist organizations, like the Mujahedeen-e Khalq Organization, commit all kinds of crimes against humanity on the order of the White House officials.

Jokar said the enemies’ “propaganda war” against the Islamic Republic stems from their fear of Tehran’s support for independent nations and liberation movements.

“The world’s public opinion agrees that…these claims are like a rusty weapon which has lost efficiency.”

Jokar further cited the sweeping wave of Islamic Awakening and a growing global tendency to emulate the Islamic Republic as other reasons why the enemies have stepped up their anti-Iran measures.

“The awakened nations and free Muslims in the region are well aware of the fact that the US and its regional allies nurture and produce terrorism and that Washington’s presence in the Middle East has fueled terror.”
