Haddad-Adel gives priority to economy

82db8545af458cebc675555b4183cf35_LIranian principlist presidential hopeful, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, says tackling financial problems in order to bring about better economic conditions will top his agenda.

According to Press TV, Haddad-Adel told a press conference on Friday after signing up for Iran’s June 14 presidential vote: “Today, making both ends meet is the most important problem that people are facing in Iran. Anyone who becomes president must work hard to address the rising inflation and improve the economic conditions as his top priority.”
Haddad-Adel, who is a lawmaker, said to facilitate development of the country, the strengths of the previous administrations should be taken advantage of, noting that if elected, he would base his foreign policy on dignity, prudence and Iran’s national interests.
The hopeful also stated that he has plans to create jobs for the young generation.
The registration of hopefuls officially began on May 7 and will run through May 11.
According to Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar, 336 presidential hopefuls signed up for the country’s upcoming presidential vote by Friday noon.
The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election. The Guardian Council vets the hopefuls and will publish the final list of candidates later this month.
