A high-level delegation of Hamas Movement concluded a successful eight-day official visit to the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday. The delegation held intensive meetings with Iranian leaders about developments of the Palestinian issue. The delegation was led by Mohammed Nasr, member of the political bureau of Hamas, Osama Hamdan, a Hamas senior leader and official of Hamas’s Arab relations, and Khalid Al-Qaddumi, Hamas representative in Tehran.

Representatives of nine Palestinian factions participated in Hamas’s visit to Iran and met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, the Secretary of the Iranian National Security Council Ali Shamkhani in addition to many of other pro-Palestine Islamic and political figures to mark the 37th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic revolution.

In exclusive statements to the PIC, Osama Hamdan said: “The visit addressed conditions of the Palestinian Question and the Intifada and its developments, the resistance, Gaza siege, and Israeli plans of taking over and Judaizing the Aqsa Mosque”. He hoped the visit would be a prelude to a turning new page of cooperation between Hamas and Iran.

For his part, Khaled al-Qadoumi, Hamas’s representative in Tehran, affirmed that the Iranian support for the Palestinian Question and people never stopped, and he stressed that there was an obvious Iranian inclination towards supporting the Palestinian people in various aspects. In an exclusive statement to the PIC, Qadoumi stated that the Iranian side declared its willingness to contribute in constructing Palestinians’ homes demolished by Israeli forces in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem during the Jerusalem Intifada and to aid families of martyrs who were killed by Israeli gunfire during the intifada.
