Hamas denies holding reconciliation meetings with Fatah in Doha

Hamas spokesman Husam Badran categorically denied there were meetings underway in the Qatari capital Doha between his Movement and officials from Fatah to end the inter-Palestinian rift.

Badran stated on Sunday that the report which was published by a local newspaper about reconciliation meetings between Hamas and Fatah officials in Doha were untrue.

The spokesman, however, affirmed that his Movement were making serious efforts at all levels to end the national division.

He also said that the leadership of Hamas was seeking recently to reach a national consensus on al-Quds intifada (uprising) against the Israeli occupation.
