Hamas: Fatah Attitude against the Prisoners’ Strike Serves the Occupation

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned ,yesterday, Fatah statement in which they have attacked the planned prisoners’ strike on Tuesday 17 April to coincide with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Day.

In a statement, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman, stated that the statement issued by Fatah in which they attacked the Palestinian prisoners’ strike in the occupation prisons stabbed Captives’ Movement in the back in total harmony with the occupation plan to foil the strike. Furthermore, he confirmed that Fatah prisoners refused to cooperate and comply with this statement saying that it doesn’t represent them.

Meanwhile, Osama Hamdan, head of foreign relations in the Hamas movement, criticized the statement issued by Fatah leadership saying that it serves the occupation’s interests and represents subordination to Zionist pressures.

Hamdan confirmed that the Palestinian prisoners strike represents a serious challenge and confrontation to the occupation asserting that the coordinating committee of Palestinian prisoners made a study on the strike’s feasibility affirmed that the political situation on the local, international, and regional levels is appropriate to achieve the prisoners’ demands.
