Hamas is an independent movement, does not interfere in affairs of others

images_News_2014_01_13_abumarzouk_300_0Political bureau member of Hamas Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk has affirmed that his movement did not interfere in Egyptian internal affairs not on 25 January nor on 30 June.

Abu Marzouk, who was commenting on an Egyptian newspaper article by Mustafa Al-Fikki titled “Hamas and Egypt”, said that Egypt is endeared by all Palestinians and is considered more than just a big neighbor.

The Hamas leader said in a statement on Monday that his movement stands at equal footing with all Egyptian parties and forces, adding that Hamas needs the support of all in its capacity as an armed resistance group that struggles against occupation.

“Violence in Egypt is absolutely rejected, and political differences should not exceed peaceful means,” Abu Marzouk said, adding that his movement was keen on maintaining the Egyptian people’s confidence in it.

He said that Hamas is an independent movement and its decisions are taken within its institutions. He said that Hamas’s religious ideology does not affect its struggle as a national liberation movement that targets the liberation of Palestine and the return of refugees to their homeland.
