Hamas: No Lebanese request for handing over alleged shooters of rockets

Hamas movement denied Lebanese press reports that the Lebanese authorities had demanded Hamas to hand over two persons suspected of firing rockets at the southern suburb of Beirut.

Hamas, in a statement on Wednesday, described the fabricated news as part of a scenario to mislead the public opinion in a bid to shake the Lebanese-Palestinian stability and security.

It said that the news report fell as part of the campaign of incitement against the Palestinian people in Lebanon and refugee camps with the aim of harming this presence and Lebanese-Palestinian relations.

Hamas said that the false report also aimed at spreading sectarian dissension and destabilizing the Lebanese-Palestinian relations “at a time we are in dire need of unity”.
